Mini Review Monday: Coffee, Chemistry, and Complications

📘 Don't let me Fall by Kelsie Rae

It’s the kind of book that makes you feel like you’re falling—fast and hard.

⭐ Rating: 5/5

🔥 Spice: Slow burn tension with a delicious payoff

💘 Tropes: forbidden chemistry, tutoring tension, golden boy vs. brooding bad boy vibes.

📝 Mini Review:

Tangled in a love triangle full of longing and late-night study sessions, this one had me turning pages with my heart in my throat. He’s the boy she shouldn’t want—but the one who sees her in ways no one else does. Their connection is messy, magnetic, and impossible to ignore.

If you love:

💔 a villain with a soft spot
📚 tutor/student dynamics
🖤 best friend’s girl angst
…you’ll be hooked.

What I didn’t love:

– The miscommunication dragged a bit at times—I just wanted them to talk!

– The golden boy vs. bad boy dynamic, while addictive, felt a little predictable in places.

– Some side characters felt more like background noise than meaningful additions.

Still, the emotional pull and forbidden tension definitely kept me reading!

Final Thoughts:

This is a quick, emotionally charged read that gives off bad boy softens for the right girl energy—perfect for fans of complicated romances and slow-burning sparks. A great pick for when you want angst, longing, and a little heartache before the HEA.

☕ Coffee Pairing: Mocha with a shot of espresso—bittersweet and bold, with an extra jolt of heart-racing tension. It’s the kind of brew that keeps you up late, just like this story will.

- Next Monday’s Brew:

If childhood crushes that never fade, broken boys with soft hearts, and second chances wrapped in starlight speak to your soul—Beneath the Stars by Emily McIntire will absolutely wreck you (in the best way).

Alina fell for Chase the second he moved in down the street—with his dimples, his anger, and his quiet need to be loved. He was her first everything: her best friend’s brother, her midnight secret, her heartbreak. But Chase doesn’t follow the rules. Not then, not now. And when life shatters everything between them, he disappears—leaving her to patch up the pieces. Until years later, when he walks back into her life… and her workplace.

He’s determined to fix what he broke.

She’s not sure her heart can take the risk.

But some love stories never stop glowing—especially the ones written beneath the stars.

☕ Coffee Pairing: Vanilla oat milk latte with extra cinnamon—comforting, nostalgic, and a little bittersweet. Just like first love you never quite let go of.
