💭 Two for Tuesday: Pick My Next Read!
A mystery thriller or a friends-to-lovers romance — which should I dive into next?
I’m torn this week, and I need your help, book besties! 💭📚 It’s time for one of my favorite kinds of Two for Tuesday posts — the “Pick My Next Read” edition. I’ve narrowed my TBR down to two completely different reads: a chilling, twisty thriller that’s been on my radar since release day and a slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance that’s been sitting patiently on my shelf.
Here’s where you come in: read through both summaries below and vote in the comments (or over on Instagram Stories) to help me decide which one I should pick up first. 👀👇
🔪 Mystery Thriller: The Intruder by Freida McFadden
Genre: Psychological Thriller, Mystery
Coffee Pairing: A bold dark roast — intense, bitter, and full of unexpected twists.
Casey’s cabin in the wilderness isn’t built for a hurricane — and it’s definitely not built for what’s about to happen next. When she discovers a blood-covered girl lurking outside her kitchen window, everything spirals out of control. The stranger won’t explain where she came from or why she’s clutching a knife… and as secrets unravel in the night, Casey realizes this girl is hiding something dark — something deadly.
If she gets too close to the truth, she might not live to see morning. 🌲🩸
📍 For readers who love: Unreliable narrators, claustrophobic settings, chilling twists, and stories that keep you turning pages late into the night.
💘 Friends-to-Lovers Romance: Burn Bright by Krista & Becca Ritchie
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Friends-to-Lovers
Coffee Pairing: A vanilla latte — comforting, sweet, and slow-building with a warm aftertaste.
Ben Cobalt might be the sixth-born in a billionaire family, but that doesn’t mean life is simple. After a rough patch at college, he moves in with his brothers in NYC — only to find himself clashing with his oldest sibling and hiding a secret that could rock the entire Cobalt empire.
Then there’s Harriet: grumpy, punk-rock, and already on one Cobalt’s bad side. Their chemistry is undeniable, but falling for each other could mean unraveling everything they’re both trying to hold together. Sometimes love is chaos… and sometimes chaos is exactly what you need. 💙🏒
📍 For readers who love: Found family, emotional slow burns, messy secrets, and heart-melting character growth.
☕ Time to Vote!
Both of these books are calling my name for completely different reasons — one promises edge-of-your-seat suspense, the other promises a swoony, slow-burn romance. 🥰🔪
📊 Your mission: Help me decide which one to read next!
-
🩸 The Intruder – because I need a gripping, stormy thriller.
-
☕ Burn Bright – because I’m craving a soft, slow friends-to-lovers romance.
I’ll tally up the results later this week and do a reveal post with whichever book wins — and of course, a review will follow. 🫶✨
