Mini Review Monday: When The Roommate is the Right Move πŸ€

⭐ Anticipation rating: 5/5 – I already know I’m going to fall in love.
✨ Spice: Medium-High (sensual + emotional slow burn)
πŸ’˜ Tropes: Fake Dating, Best Friend’s Brother, Forced Proximity, NBA Hero, Grumpy/Sunshine

πŸ“ Mini Review / Pre-Read Thoughts:

I finally picked up the special edition of The Right Move by Liz Tomforde and I am READY. This is book 2 in the Windy City series, and it has everything I could ever want in a sports romance: a grumpy NBA captain, a sunshine roommate, and a fake-dating arrangement that gets way too real.

Ryan Shay is my favorite kind of hero: closed off, broody, and absolutely convinced he doesn’t believe in love. Indy? She’s warmth, chaos, and emotion in human form — the exact kind of woman who burrows under a man’s skin when he’s convinced he doesn’t need anyone.

This setup already screams slow-burn longing. The forced proximity, the jealousy, the blurred lines, the “we’re not really dating” but every action says otherwise, energy? I’m obsessed.

πŸ’ What to Expect:

πŸ€ Chicago sports energy and NBA spotlight
🏠 Roommates-to-lovers in the best way
πŸ”₯ A grumpy hero trying (and failing) not to fall
🀝 Fake dating that gets messy & real
πŸ’ A wedding, an ex, and some serious tension

πŸ’ Why I’m Excited:

I keep hearing that Ryan + Indy are one of the MOST swoon-worthy couples in sports romance. I already know I’m going to scream, cry, and become feral over these two. Slow-burn + forced proximity + Liz Tomforde’s writing is a dangerous combo.

Coffee Pairing: Salted Caramel Mocha – bold, sweet, and slightly indulgent (just like a sports romance should be).

✨ I’ll be starting this week, and I’m fully prepared to fall for Ryan + Indy. This might just be the right move.

Until next time,
