🫶 Trope Thursday Tracker: July Romance Reads

Image
Four Books. Four Tropes. One Happy (and slightly emotional) Reader. This month, I wandered into a fake marriage, reunited long-lost lovers, dabbled in forbidden territory, and watched feelings bloom where they definitely shouldn't . July had all the tropes I love most. ☕💞 So fluff your favorite blanket, pour a warm mug of something sweet, and let’s dive into the swooniest stories I read this month — trope by trope. 💍 Marriage of Convenience 📖 Gloves Off  by Stephanie Nichole Sometimes love starts with a contract — and ends with a full-blown emotional knockout. This was heartfelt, messy, and full of that “Wait… I might actually love you” tension. ✨ Trope moments: reluctant cohabitation, emotional breakthroughs, slow-burn tenderness. 💔 Second Chance Romance 📖 Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren This book wrecked me in the softest way. High school sweethearts reconnect after years apart, and everything that wasn’t said… finally bubbles to the surface. ✨ Trope mom...

💥 What’s the Hype Wednesday: Twisted Love by Ana Huang

Image
💥 What’s the Hype Wednesday?  A story of fire and frost, secrets and longing — Twisted Love is the book everyone’s talking about… for very good (and slightly heart-shattering) reasons. He has a heart of ice… but for her, he’d burn the world. 🔥❄️ This isn’t just hype — it’s obsession-level romance. 📖  What’s It About? Ava Chen is all sunshine — kind, creative, and chasing her dreams. Alex Volkov is her brother’s best friend — cold, calculated, and haunted by the past. When her brother leaves town, Alex steps in to watch over her… and that’s when things start to twist. He’s not supposed to fall for her. She’s not supposed to uncover his secrets. But hearts don’t follow rules — and love can get messy when the past refuses to stay buried. 💥Why It’s Hyped: 💔 Brother’s best friend tension ☀️ Grumpy x sunshine dynamic 📚 A past full of secrets, a future full of fire 🖤 Alex Volkov: emotionally unavailable, dangerously protective 🌸 Ava Chen: soft but strong, a dreamer with a...

Sparks Fly at Dreamland 🏰✨ Featuring The Fine Print & an Iced Vanilla Latte

Image
Two for Tuesday: A Perfect Pairing  💌 This week’s dreamy duo? The Fine Print by Lauren Asher and an iced vanilla latte. Sweet, bold, and just the right amount of magic — a book-beverage combo made for fairytale daydreamers.  🏰 ✨ The Fine Print by Lauren Asher Trope: grumpy x sunshine ☀️ Rating: 5/5 ⭐ (If I could I'd give it a 6 star) 💭 Lauren Asher delivered a fairytale I didn’t know I needed. When Zahra submits a brutally honest proposal about Dreamland’s biggest ride, she expects to be fired—not offered her dream job by Rowan Kane, the grumpy billionaire in charge.  Rowan builds fairy tales for a living, but his world turns upside down when feelings get involved—and secrets come to light. A workplace romance full of spark, tension, and just the right amount of magic. ✨ Favorite Quote:  “To the girls who dream of meeting a prince  but end up falling for the misunderstood villain.” Coffee Match :  Perfectly paired with an iced vanilla latte 🧋 — swe...

Mini Monday Review: He Shoots, He Scores... My Heart

Image
📘 Wicked Serve  by Grace Reilly “He’s my brother’s biggest hockey rival… but he’s bringing the heat for me.”  🏒🏐💋 ⭐  Rating:  4/5  💘  Tropes:   Brother’s rival, sports romance, forced proximity, secret relationship. 📝  Mini Review: This sizzling college sports romance gave me all the feels! Nikolai and Izzy’s story is a delicious mix of forbidden tension, secret summer flings, and second chances—with a hefty dose of angst and swoon. Nik is the broody, protective hockey player with a scarred past, and Izzy is the determined, sunshiney volleyball player trying to protect her heart (and her team loyalty 😅). . What I loved: 🏒 Rivals-to-lovers tension 🌞 Sunshine x Broody vibes 🔥 Spicy but soft moments 🐨 Yes, there’s an adorable koala moment?! 📚 Perfect for fans of secret romance and sports-centered banter. Grace Reilly’s writing always blends heat with heart, and Wicked Serve definitely served both. I was cheering (and maybe blushing 👀) fr...

👑🩸 Swoon Quote Saturday: Rise, Little Dhampir

Image
It’s officially Swoon Quote Saturday! This quote gives me chills. There’s something so powerful about watching a heroine reclaim her identity and rise into her own strength—especially in a world that tried to break her. Mina’s journey isn’t just about surviving... it’s about becoming. And this moment? Pure empowerment meets swoon. If you love dark, spicy vampire romance with protective MMCs and fierce female leads—this one owns the throne.❤ Fair warning: this book owns you once you start. Come for the vampire chaos, stay for the steam and swoon. 🔥🖤

🗡️💖📚Favorite Friday: My Top 4 Fantasy Romance Recs Magic, mayhem, and heart-melting romance—these fantasy reads swept me off my feet and into other worlds. If you're craving epic stakes and swoony tension, these are for you. 🖤 1. Court of the Vampire Queen by Katee Robert Why I Loved It: This spicy vampire romance was my first Katee Robert read—and OMG, it delivered!! 🔥🩸 The spice? Off the charts. The connection? Absolutely addictive. I love love love the MMC in this (yes, there are technically 3 👀), but Malachi’s love is UNMATCHED. And Mina? She’s a total queen—powerful, bold, and impossible not to root for. I couldn’t put it down. Obsession level: 💯. FYI: I just had to get the collector’s edition too… no regrets. 👑📚 Favorite Quote:  “You’re mine, little dhampir. Body, heart, and soul.” – Malachi 🖤🩸 ❤️‍🔥  2. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros Why I loved it: All. The. Hype. And yes—Fourth Wing absolutely lived up to it! From the moment I met Violet, I was h...

📣 What’s the Hype Wednesday: The Charlie Method by Elle Kennedy

Image
If you love Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus and Briar U series, then buckle up—because The Charlie Method is here, and it’s messy, spicy, and everything readers are obsessing over. 📖 What’s It About? Charlotte “Charlie” Kingston is living a double life. By day, she’s the picture-perfect sorority girl and STEM student trying to meet her overachieving family’s expectations. By night, she’s a rule-breaking daredevil chatting with two anonymous hotties on a dating app. Enter Will Larsen and Beckett Dunne—two Briar U hockey players with a few secrets of their own (yep, those kinds of secrets 👀). Will’s congressman father wants to protect his reputation, Beckett’s hiding emotional scars, and neither of them expects Charlie to be the girl behind the screen. But once fantasy meets reality, things get steamy fast , and the three of them are forced to face what they really want—and what happens when lust starts to look a lot like love. 🔥 Why It’s Hyped: Elle Kennedy. Hockey. College. Chaos. A ...

📚☕ Two for Tuesday: Tropes That Bring the Heat

Image
Let’s talk about two romances that bring enemies, lies, and longing to a whole new level. If you’re into emotional chaos (with a happy ending, of course), these two belong on your TBR: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 💘 Enemies with Benefits / Forbidden Romance 📖 Twisted Hate by Ana Huang Rating : 5/5 ⭐ 💭 I read Twisted Hate in one sitting—couldn't put it down. Josh Chen is pure chaos and I loved every second. Jules and Josh can’t stand each other—but they also can’t stay away. She’s a fiery law student. He’s a cocky future doctor (and her best friend’s brother 😬). When they agree to a no-strings “enemies with benefits” arrangement, things get messy fast . Sharp banter, sizzling tension, and surprising emotional depth make this one totally unputdownable. Favorite Quote: "You drive me crazy, Red." He cupped my face, his voice low and rough. "But I'd go insane wi...

Mini Review Monday: A Tall Cup of Tension with Alexei & Georgia

Image
📘 Gloves Off by Stephanie Archer ⭐ Rating: 5/5 – I would rate this even higher if I could (HANDS DOWN my favorite in the series now) 💘 Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Marriage of Convenience, Grumpy/Sunshine, Forced Proximity 📝 Mini Review: Georgia needs her inheritance. Alexei needs to stay in the country. The solution? A fake marriage between two people who cannot stand each other. But when tension this hot and trapped under one roof, something’s bound to burn. I absolutely devoured this book. Alexei and Georgia’s chemistry was addicting—the kind that makes your heart race and your face hurt from grinning. Their banter was perfectly biting, but it’s the slow unraveling of their true feelings that made me melt. Alexei is the ultimate grumpy-softie, and Georgia? She’s smart, sassy, and refuses to be anything but herself. Watching them go from enemies to partners to something real had me fully hooked. What I loved: The fake marriage set-up with real emotional depth The t...

📖 Favorite Friday: My Top 5 Romance Reads (So Far This Year)

Image
📖 Favorite Friday: My Top 5 Romance Reads: (So Far This Year) 💘 1. Betting on You by Lynn Painter Why I loved it:  I loved how this book felt like a full-on rom-com, it was funny, heartfelt, and impossible to put down. Bailey and Charlie’s relationship completely won me over, especially the way he truly saw her & her little nickname for her "Glasses" . With so many twists and turns, I devoured it in just a few hours! Favorite Quote:  “When you’re in the room, every single cell in my body – every nerve, every muscle, every breath – is lost in you.”  💘 2. Throttled by Lauren Asher (One of My Favorite Authors! Also #1 in Series) Why I loved it: This was my first Formula 1 romance, and I know there probably aren’t many out there! Noah is kind of a mess, but he’s got such a good heart. He’s also Maya’s brother’s teammate (and not exactly his biggest fan), which makes things very complicated. Everyone warns her to stay far away, but of course, she can’t. Watching their r...

Hearts on Ice: Vancouver Storm Series Books 1–3

Image
🏒 Series Overview  Stephanie Archer’s Vancouver Storm series is a sweet, yet spicy, sports romance saga that follows a group of hockey players and the women who steal their hearts.  Each book is a standalone romance but works best as part of the series If you're into hockey boys with big hearts, this series is a win.  🥅💙 📘 Book 1: Behind the Net  ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 This book the first in the series, and where it all begins. With a fake relationship that turns very real, the chemistry between the main characters is overwhelming, but what made this story stand out was the emotional layers. This one was the perfect introduction to the world of Vancouver Storm.  Favorite Quote:  “You’re beautiful,” he says quietly. I smile up at him. “You make me feel beautiful.” 📗 Book 2: The Fake Out ⭐ Rating: 5/5 (My FAVORITE in the series so far) Slow burn tension & fake dating , what could be more perfect? This one brought the thick tension and the female sas...

A Second Chance at Love: Love and Other Words Review

Image
This book made me cry in public. Twice. If you believe in second chances and soulmates, Love and Other Words will leave a mark. Title: Love and Other Words Author: Christina Lauren Genre: Contemporary Romance Pages: 450 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  Some books don’t just tell a love story — they take your heart, break it, and carefully stitch it back together. Love and Other Words did exactly that. If you’ve ever had a first love you couldn’t forget, or wondered what might’ve happened if things had gone differently... this one’s for you.  After more than a decade apart, childhood sweethearts Macy and Elliot reconnect by chance. As they slowly rebuild trust, they’re forced to revisit the heartbreak that tore them apart — and the love that never really went away. Told in a dual timeline style, this story explores the power of words, memory, and unfinished love. I adored how strong Macy and Elliot's feelings for eachother were. Their connection from friendship to young love was be...
