Coffee Chat Friday: Back to School & Books 🎒☕ Published: August 28, 2026 There’s something about back-to-school season that feels like a fresh start. New classes. New notebooks. New routines. And of course... Trying to figure out how I'm supposed to keep reading all my romance books when professors start assigning their own. 😂📚 I'm actually SO excited to go back to school this semester. I can't wait, honestly. But I also know from experience that once classes start, my reading life changes a little. So grab your coffee, your current read, and maybe your backpack... Let's talk about back-to-school & books. 🎒☕📚 The Semester Reading Struggle Is Real Unfortunately... My fun reading definitely slows down once school starts. Between classes, assignments, studying, and all the reading I have to do for school, there are only so many words my brain can process in one day. 😂 But I don't stop reading for fun completely. I try to break everything up so that rea...

Monday Reading Check-In: What’s in My Coffee Cup & on My TBR ☕📚

Monday Reading Check-In: What’s in My Coffee Cup & on My TBR ☕📚 Happy Monday, Coffee Club! There’s no book review today because I haven’t finished my current read—and we do not rush books around here! Instead, I thought this would be the perfect time for a little Monday reading check-in. Let’s talk about what I’m currently reading, what’s in my coffee cup, and the three new books that just joined my TBR! Currently Reading 📖 Bonfire and Bliss Bookstore by Brittanée Nicole I’m currently about 20% into Bonfire and Bliss Bookstore , the second book in the Hope Harbor series. This cozy fall romance follows Penny Darling, the owner of Bonfire & Bliss Bookstore, and Jake “Monty” Montgomery, her high school best friend and a struggling author. Monty needs Penny’s help learning how to write the perfect book boyfriend, while Penny needs him to pretend to be her real boyfriend and keep Hope Harbor’s busybodies out of her love life. Fake dating, friends to lovers, a cozy bookstore, an ap...

Coffee Chat Friday: Things Romance Books Have Made Me Unrealistically Expect ☕

Image
☕ Coffee Chat Friday: Things Romance Books Have Made Me Unrealistically Expect I love romance books. Obviously. But after reading enough of them, I think we need to acknowledge something: They have completely ruined my perception of what is normal. Now, let me be clear—I am happily engaged, so I'm not exactly out here waiting for a billionaire hockey player to sweep me off my feet. 😂 But that doesn't mean romance books haven't made me look at certain situations and think, Well... this would be much more interesting if this were a book. Because apparently, somewhere along the way, I started accepting dramatic rain confessions, suspiciously thoughtful men, private jets, and completely unhinged displays of devotion as perfectly reasonable romantic behavior. So grab your coffee, because we're talking about all the things romance books have made me unrealistically expect. ☕💕 😏 1. Every Argument Should Have a Little Sexual Tension Why are romance-book arguments never just ...

☕ Coffee & Chat Friday Romance Tropes — Love It, Like It, or I’ll Read It Anyway 💕 If there’s one thing romance readers have opinions about, it’s tropes . Tell me a book is enemies-to-lovers and you already have my attention. Tell me there’s an accidental pregnancy? Well... you might have to work a little harder to convince me. 😂 Over time, I’ve definitely figured out which tropes will make me immediately add a book to my TBR, which ones I usually enjoy, and which ones make me hesitate before turning that first page. So, in true Romance in the Coffee Rings fashion, grab your coffee and let’s talk romance tropes. ☕💕
